Flowers that look like angel’s faces, beverage glasses perfect for the patio, and a solar globe light… Check out this week’s fun finds!
#1 – Angelface Flowers
I discovered a new white flower this week, and I couldn’t be more excited! It’s the Angelonia Angelface (‘Angelonia angustifolia’) – isn’t it stunning?!?!
This plant has gorgeous white flowers that bloom from Spring to Fall on an upright stem. Not only will these flowers look amazing in my patio containers, they also make long-lasting cut flowers that you can enjoy in a vase indoors. I wish you could smell them!
Because of the cold zone 3 we live in, this plant will be an annual for me. And you can be sure it’s a new “staple” plant that I’ll search for year after year. I just love everything about this plant!
#2 – Patio Beverage Glasses
Check out this set of stainless steel beverage glasses!
The glasses hold 16-ounces of your favorite beverage, are unbreakable, and can be washed in the dishwasher. They also have lids on them, which is perfect for patio beverage glasses, as the lids help keep out the insects while partying on the patio.
I love the simple elegance of these glasses and lids, and I think they would be a perfect addition to a patio, deck, pool party… or any backyard party. Margarita, anyone?
#3 – Outdoor Solar Globe Light
Back around the year 2001, I spotted this color-changing solar globe and bought one for our landscaping and one for my parents deck at the cabin. At the time, the globes were $90 each, and was well worth the money! Both my parents and my family used our solar lights for many years – thoroughly enjoying the light in our landscaping and on the deck. All you had to do was put the light outside, turn it on, and leave it. The sun charged the batteries by day, and the light came on at night.
When we built our current home, of course this solar globe came with us. I nestled it into the landscaping rock around our pool. We could see the light from the house and our sons enjoyed watching it subtly change color. This light lasted for many years, sitting outside in our landscaping the entire time (taking it in only in the winter). Unfortunately, a bad hailstorm cracked the globe and made the globe unusable. Since that time, I’ve often thought about trying to find a replacement. Well, this past week, I found one!
The solar globe is called a Magic Globe and is made by Smart Solar. You can still buy these globes, and the price has become much more reasonable! Of course, I had to order a new globe – it will be here next week. I can’t wait to put this new globe in the same space the previous globe was in around our pool. At this price, I probably should buy a second globe and use it as ambient lighting for one of our patios, as well! I highly recommend this globe – trust me, you’ll love it!
