Three dimensional wall tiles, deep frames, and hydroponic house plants… Check out this week’s fun finds!
#1 – 3D Walls
I. Absolutely. LOVE. This. 3D Wall!
When we first built our house, I wanted to add texture and dimension to our walls. Maybe not all the walls, but some of them – especially our master bedroom and/or our master bathroom suite. Over the years, I’ve spotted various textured wallpaper and wall tiles in a wide variety of shapes and sizes – mostly geometric patterns of squares, circles, or lines, but none that really felt just right for our room before.
This past week, this wave pattern popped up in one of my newsfeeds, and Wow! I love the wave pattern! This pattern reminds me of waves and ripples on the water. Of patterns in a sandy beach. Even of fresh air blowing over the ground. I find this pattern very relaxing and very refreshing! It feels timeless to me.
We’re switching things up in our bedroom lately and it’s time for me to convince my dear husband that we need a wave wall on one of our walls! So cool!
#2 – Deep Frames
I spotted these deep picture frames and had a great idea…. I’m turning them into front door decor for one of our front door entries!
I bought several of these frames that are 9″ square and around 1-1/2″ deep, and I’m filling them with different things for different seasons. For example, right now, I’m filling one of the frames with a collection of awesome rocks our middle son has unearthed on our property (he has a great eye for unique rocks). I’m placing the rocks behind glass against a white background (I removed the white picture matte board). I’m carefully positioning the rocks in a way that shows their best side, and in a way that the rocks nestle together. Once I have the frame completely filled, I’ll add some rubber bumpers to the four corners on the back, and will hang the frame on the outside of one of our front doors as a unique piece of door decor. The rubber bumpers will help the frame from shifting as people open and close the door.
When the weather gets a little warmer, I’ll fill another frame with moss gathered from our woods, along with a few birch branches and probably a few fun stones. In the Summer, I’ll remove the glass from the front of one of the frames and will plant a vertical planter of living succulents to adorn our door. There are so many possibilities of what you could put inside the frames for your front door!
#3 – Hydroponic House Plants
Growing up, my Mom and my Grandma (Mom’s Mom) loved their houseplants. Our living room looked like an indoor jungle with all my Mom’s plants – it was so cool! Mom always had plants propagating in glass vases, and I loved the look of those plants – just like they were, right in the glass. I thought it was really neat to be able to see the roots of the plants, as well as the plants themselves. And they were so easy to care for! Just make sure the glass vase always had water. No over-watering or under-watering for these kinds of plants.
This past week I spotted this boiling flask plant holder and it reminded me of the vases Mom used for her plants in water. I have a bunch of vintage boiling flasks in a variety of sizes. I’m going to ask my brother or husband to make a holder similar to this one for the flasks, and then I’m anxious to start growing a new garden of indoor houseplants – in nothing but water. I think the flasks will look awesome on a kitchen windowsill.
There are lots of houseplants that grow very well in just water. Here are a few that I’m considering: Philodendron; Fiddle Leaf Fig; Mint; Spider Plant; and Coleus.
What do you think? Have you tried growing plants in just water?

You can find links to all three things on Pinterest at Things I Like and you can find some of these things in my Amazon Marketplace Storefront.
NOTE: Since my job is an online store and mentoring ecommerce business owners, I spend a LOT of time online each day. While most of that time is spent working, I do occasionally stumble across websites, articles, and cool things that I really like. I save these things to a Pinterest board, so someday when I have some free time, I can go back to that board and enjoy the things I found. I enjoy sharing these fun finds with you, and hope you find them interesting, too!
