This Shrimp Dip recipe was my Grandma’s recipe. It was a family favorite before I was even born, and it still remains a family favorite!
Grandma’s Shrimp Dip has even become sort of a family tradition. No holiday gathering is without her dip, it really is that good.
My family and I enjoy entertaining friends, and Grandma’s dip is the most asked-for recipe among friends. Even people who don’t really like shrimp, love this dip.
Grandma’s Shrimp Dip
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 8-ounce block of Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup Real Mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 tablespoon Garlic Salt (we usually add around 1 tablespoon)
- 1 can Tiny Shrimp, rinsed and drained very well
- Your favorite potato chips
DIRECTIONS:
- Place cream cheese in a glass bowl and allow it to soften (you can microwave it for 30 seconds to help soften, just make sure not to go more than 30 seconds).
- Add mayonnaise and sour cream to softened cream cheese and mix well.
- Add Worcestershire sauce and garlic salt and mix well.
- Gently fold in tiny shrimp.
- Allow dip to chill for 30 minutes before serving (you could eat it right away, but the flavors blend together better after it’s been chilled).
- Serve with chips and enjoy!
What Kind of Dipper Are You?
When dipping chips into dip, do you use the “quick in-and-plunge” approach, covering most of the chip with a thin coat of dip? Or do you prefer using the “no-dip spreading” method, using a spoon or knife to spread dip onto your chips? Maybe you’re the “dainty dipper“, holding one small edge of the chip and using it to spoon out a small amount of dip. Or maybe you prefer the “super scoop” technique, aiming the ridges of your chip directly at the dip, dunking, and scooping out a large portion of dip.
Whichever technique you prefer, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this tasty recipe!
