I love to talk to people and get to know them better.
Of course, I much prefer visiting with people in real life. There’s nothing better than sitting next to each other, face-to-face and having a conversation.
But, with busy schedules and friends and family spread out all over the world, those real life conversations can’t always happen.
Sure, there’s social media – and that can be a fun way to stay in touch with people you don’t see on a regular basis. But not everyone is into social media.
So….
I’ve started this new weekly series here called “Something to Chat About“.
A place where I’ll ask a question and hopefully you’ll post your answer as a comment below.
Don’t be shy!
It’s just me.
And, well, anyone else who decides to read and follow my blog.
Seriously. Let’s give this a go and have a conversation among friends, family, and acquaintances. Hopefully we’ll meet some new friends along the way.
The question this week is…
*If you could travel anywhere on Earth this weekend, all expenses paid, where would you go, and why?
There are SO many places I hope to travel to yet in my life. Kenya, Fiji, Australia, Rome, Stonehenge – just to name a few places.
But the ONE place I have had the most intense longing to visit since I was a kid, is Egypt.
I simply MUST touch the great pyramids.
I’ve been in awe of the pyramids and their mysteries since I was a little girl.
- How exactly were they built?
- What’s the real reason they were built?
- Do they hold mysteries we have yet to solve?
- Are there chambers we have yet to discover?
- Where they built for aliens as some kind of beacon?
So many questions!
The pyramids of Egypt are so intriguing and mysterious to me. My imagination races when I think of all the reasons they may have been built. They are an engineering marvel and I would love to see them and inspect them up close and personal. I believe the pyramids hold secrets we have yet to uncover, and I would love to be the one to make those discoveries. “Minnesota JayDee and the Temple of Giza” has a nice ring to it. 🙂
My cameras would come along on the weekend trip and I’d probably take enough photos to last me a lifetime.
Someday. I WILL visit Egypt and the pyramids.
So… tell me about you. Post your answer as a comment below and let’s chat!
The place that I would travel is an interesting choice for me. I’m not a water person. So for me to be somewhere that the water is deeper than a kiddie wading pool would be unusual. I’m also not one that would gravitate to a cold climate. I like my warm sunshine!! But…the beauty I hear in the stories told to me compels me to one day take an Alaskan Cruise. It’s a dream that I hope someday becomes a reality.
I hope you get a chance to take that cruise, Mrs. A!
Several of our friends have done that and said it was the most incredible experience. One of the comments I heard that has stuck with me is that “everything sounds different there”. I imagine with the glaciers among the waterways, sounds would be different.
Thanks for sharing your destination!
