I’ve been having so much fun, I just had to share this with you!
I have loved reading since I read my first Tip and Mitten book at age 4. There’s a special kind of magic that comes with reading. Reading offers an escape, a refuge, and an adventure all at once. Books are more than ink on paper; they’re portals to other worlds, mirrors reflecting our own lives, and bridges connecting us to ideas, emotions, and experiences far beyond our own. There’s a profound peace in curling up with a good book, letting its words envelop you like a warm blanket. It’s a moment to pause, reflect, and lose yourself in something beautifully other. Throughout my life, I have maintained my love of reading – I always have a pile of books sitting around just waiting for me to dive in.
When we built our “dream home”, we included a Library to house all our books. I use an app called Readerware to scan and record the books we have so I don’t accidentally buy the same book twice (check out my article “Wait! Have I Already Read This Book, or Not?” to learn more) . While our Library is plenty big, it doesn’t have unlimited space, so I prefer to buy books from my favorite authors and books that I really love, rather than buy books from authors I’ve never heard of, or stories I’m not sure if I’ll enjoy. Of course, I don’t always buy books. I borrow books from our local library, and I use the free Libby app from the library to read digital books. What would we do without our local libraries?!?!

When I was around 8 years old, I thought of an idea for a novel, and since that time, I’ve developed many ideas for novels. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to take the time to expand on these outlines and actually write these books! But in the meantime, I’ll continue reading books written by others.
