While updating apps on my iPhone the other day, I stumbled on a game called Hidden Folks. I’m not much of a game player on my phone or iPad – other than the occasional game of Mahjongg or Crown Solitaire – but this game intrigued me, so I had to take a look. I’m so glad I did – *MEEEEP!*
Remember the hidden pictures in Highlights Magazines? Or the Where’s Waldo books of our childhood? This game combines them both with added twists, turns, and humor.
How To Play
The game Hidden Folks is made up of hand-drawn areas and the folks who live there.
Each level (or location) includes folks and items that you need to find before you can move on to the next level.
Each level also includes some pretty fun sound effects *PLINK!* – all made by actual people – that are sure to make you smile. You’ll find yourself tapping on everything just to hear what sound it makes! TIP: You can also use those sound effects to help you locate the items you’re searching for. *SHUUUP!*
To start the game, a row of objects appear at the bottom of the screen (see screenshot below). These are all the items you need to find on that level. By tapping each object, you’ll see clues that will help you find the object. *BLIINNG!*
Tap through the level and make sure to open doors and windows, move rocks and manhole covers, and chop down shrubs and trees. You can zoom in and out of each level to help find your way around and locate objects.
When you find an object from the bar at the bottom of the screen, a check mark appears next to that object to show you’ve already found it. When you find all the objects, you can advance to the next level – a completely different drawn landscape with it’s own objects to find. *TICKYTICKYTICKY!*
Where to Get the Game
The game is available for iOS, Android, and Steam. You can even play the game on Apple TV! Click the links here to download the version you need. I paid $3.99 for the iOS version.
I’ve been playing this game on my iPad – either alone or with others, and we’ve really been enjoying it! In order to play the game on your computer, you’ll need to play through Steam (which requires you have Steam – a free app – on your computer, along with a free Steam account).
