Want to have a little bit more fun in your day-to-day life? Set up your own unique Tea Bar!
I’ve never been a huge tea or coffee drinker, although I do occasionally like iced tea or iced coffee. I mostly drink water throughout the day – sometimes with a slice of lime, but mostly just plain water. In an effort to find a variety of more interesting (and still healthy) things to drink during the day, I decided to try drinking more cold tea.
In order to jazz up the tea, I bought a bunch of flavorings and cool-shaped ice cubes to make the beverages even more FUN to drink. My family and I have actually been having a lot of fun experimenting with our ‘tea bar’!
We’ve had friends visit who have also really enjoyed experimenting with our tea bar, so I thought I’d share this idea with you as well!

Set Up Your Own Tea Bar
Here are the things we’re using for our Tea Bar. Hopefully, you’ll find inspiration in these ideas.
What You Will Need:
- Variety of Teas (we like Jasmine, Hibiscus, Blood Orange, Dandelion Root, Butterfly Pea Tree, Matcha Green Tea Powder)
- Variety of Flavored Syrups (Violet, Lavender, Rose, Hibiscus, Elderflower, Agave, Pomegranate, Mojito, Mango, Pure Cane, Vanilla)
- Variety of Different Kinds of Milk (Coconut Milk, Oat Milk, Almond Milk)
- Honey
- Agave Nectar
- Fresh or Frozen Fruits (optional)
- Edible Flower Petals as a garnish (optional)
- Citrus Vodka
- Small Glass Tea Pot with Strainer
- Clear Glass Beverage Glasses (see below for more ideas)
- Glass Straws (optional, but cool)
- Mini Ice Sphere Trays (Mini Square Ice Cube Trays work as well)
- Container to house all your supplies
What You Do:
- Heat water to boiling in order to brew your tea. We like to use our electric kettle for instant boiling water.
- Place your selected tea bag or loose-leaf tea in your teapot strainer inside the teapot.
- Add boiling water to your teapot and allow the tea to steep for at least 2-3 minutes (some tea is better the longer it steeps).
- Allow the brewed tea to cool for a few minutes before adding to ice.
- Fill a fun glass with ice, then pour in your tea.
- Add flavorings and a garnish, as desired.
- Stir everything together and enjoy!
Additional Notes and Tips:
- Choose by Color – When choosing teas for your Tea Bar, in addition to choosing the flavors you like, also consider their colors. The different colors really add to the aesthetics of your beverage and makes your drinks more fun. For example, Butterfly Pea Tea is a beautiful shade of blue that turns to a deep violet color or a deep purple color, depending on what you add to the tea. Add a splash of lemon juice to turn the blue tea to a dark purple. Add hibiscus petals to the tea to turn it a deep violet. So pretty!
- Flavored Syrups – We like to use the Monin Sample Collection of syrups. The small glass bottles are the perfect size for a Tea Bar, and they can be refilled when needed. When we find a flavor that we know we’ll use a lot of, I buy the full-size bottle of flavoring, then just refill the smaller bottles. The smaller bottles are just so convenient. The Monin Floral Collection and Monin Cocktail Collection are our favorites.
- Tea Flavor Suggestions – Here are the teas we have liked so far: Organic Blood Orange Tea (it’s orange and has the flavors of meadowsweet, rose hip, and orange peel); Butterfly Pea Tea (it starts blue, but turns purple or violet, and has the mild pea-like flavor); Organic Hibiscus Tea (it’s deep pink and has a sweet and slightly tart flavor); Dandelion Root Tea (it’s yellow with a mildly sweet flavor); Jasmine Tea (it’s yellow and has a mellow floral taste).
- Unique Glasses – Drinking from unique glasses makes this experience even more fun! We really like using the Beer Can Shaped Glasses, and these old-fashioned Whiskey Tumbler Glasses – they spin! These Double-Wall Tumblers are also fun. Clear glass drinking glasses are the best because you’ll want to show off how aesthetically pleasing the colors of your beverages are.
- Make Larger Batches – When you’re having friends or family over, brew a larger batch of tea so there’s enough to go around. Everyone can flavor their teas however they’d like to. We like to use this larger glass teapot for brewing more tea.
- Make Floral Ice Cubes – Freeze the petals of edible flowers (such as Pansies, Violas, and Marigolds) in ice cube trays to make your ice cubes extra pleasing.
Aesthetic Tea ‘Recipes’
- Experiment! – One of the things that makes this experience fun is playing around with different tea flavors and flavor additives you choose. Some of the pairings we’ve made have been really good. Others, just so-so. But once you find flavor pairings you like, write them down so you can make them again in the future.
- Flavor Pairings to Try – Here are just a few ‘recipes’ to try.
– Sparkling Butterfly Pea Tea: Pour a can of Raspberry Sparkling Water over ice, then add 1 teaspoon brewed Butterfly Pea Tea and 2-3 teaspoons Vanilla Syrup. Stir and serve.
– Blood Orange Cranberry Tea: Pour about 1/4 cup of Cranberry Juice into a glass of ice, then add about 1 teaspoon brewed Blood Orange tea and 2 teaspoons of Honey. Stir and enjoy.
– Pink Latte: Pour 2/3 cup of Milk (any variety) into a glass of ice (Hibiscus Tea Ice Cubes work very well for this), then add 1 tablespoon Honey, 1 teaspoon Hibiscus Tea, and 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract. Stir or froth until everything is mixed together well.
– Passionfruit Green Tea: Pour brewed Green Tea over ice, then add about a tablespoon of Passionfruit Syrup and a tablespoon of Pineapple Juice. Yum!
– Butterfly Pea Tea Latte: Pour about 1 tablespoon Honey over ice, then add about 1/2 cup of Milk (any variety), 1/2 cup of Butterfly Pea Tea, and top with Milk Foam. Drop a flower petal on top and serve. - Find Recipe Inspiration on Instagram – Instagram is filled with inspirational aesthetic teas to make!
