Philodendron ‘Lemon Lime’ Upright
The color of the leaves is so bright and cheerful! This plant produces multiple color leaves – from a yellowish green to a bright lime green, and has stems that have tints of pink. It’s really a beautiful plant!
About the Plant
The Philodendron ‘Lemon Lime’ is the upright variety – versus the vining ‘Lemon Lime’ variety.
This plant has shiny leaves that start out a lemony yellow color, then turn into a bright lime green. The stems radiate from the center of the plant. The leaves can grow to around 8-inches to 10-inches. This plant grows upright, but it has aerial roots so it can also grow with support on a moss pole.
This plant is very easy to grow and care for. It can tolerate low to medium-light, but does best in filtered light conditions. It’s best to keep the plant out of direct afternoon sun, as the leaves might sunburn.
This plant doesn’t like the soil to stay wet, so allow the Lemon Lime to dry out between watering, then water thoroughly in well-draining soil.
The ‘Lemon Lime’ is native to the central and southern regions and rain forests of America.
This plant is toxic to pets.
Why I Love It
I really love the color of this plants leaves – they are so bright! I love how this plant adds tropical flair to whatever room it’s in.
I also love how this bright plant looks sitting next to my darker leaf plants, such as the Raven ZZ plant – the contrast of colors really make this plant stand out.
