DIY: Make Clover Confetti

Did you know that March is National Craft Month?! Yay!

I am determined to do at least one craft a day throughout the month of March. I love creating and trying new things, so this is going to be a really FUN month!

Today I’m making clover confetti.

Clover Confetti

Okay. I admit. I MIGHT be crazy. But… for today’s craft, I had this idea…

I went to the Dollar Tree and bought a pizza pan. I had previously bought these squares of clovers to use for another project, but when they arrived, I realized they weren’t going to work for what I wanted. So…. I decided to behead each (and every) clover from these mats and make Clover Confetti.

I’m going to line this pizza pan with the tiny clovers and use the pan as a tray for our St. Patrick’s Day celebration AND for Easter.

For St. Patrick’s Day, I’ll tuck a few glass bowls of gold coin candies among the lucky clovers. For Easter, I’ll put our three moss-covered rabbits on the tray and use that as a centerpiece for our dining room table.

I MIGHT hot glue all these little clovers to the pizza pan to make it a permanent tray for the holidays. Still undecided on that… Hmmm… wonder what would happen if I put the clover filled pizza pan in the oven for a minute or two? Suppose the clovers would melt together and form a nice mat?

What You Will Need:

What You Do:

  1. Pull off each ‘sprig’ of clover from the clover mat, then use a wire cutter to behead the clovers from the stems
Make sure to clip the clovers as close to the leaves as possible – you don’t need the stems.
  2. Working over a tray or pizza pan, continue clipping clovers until the tray is filled
  3. Leave the clover confetti as is – just sitting on the tray – or, if you’re really ambitious, you could use a hot glue gun and glue all the little clovers to the pizza pan for a more permanent display tray
TIP: You could leave the rim of the pizza pan silver, as shown in my photos, or you could hot glue a length of rope to that rim to cover it and finish it off.
  4. If you don’t glue the clovers to the pan, you can scoop them up and save them in a bag for your next holiday

Additional Tips:

  • Sprinkle On The Table – If you prefer, you could also just sprinkle your clover confetti on your dining room table on St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, or the first day of Spring. Sprinkle the confetti down the middle of your table to form a table runner, or sprinkle a little at each place setting. It’s sure to be unique and be a conversation starter!

I hope you enjoyed this project! Make sure to check back tomorrow to see what I’ll be working on.
