Did you know that March is National Craft Month?! Yay!
I am determined to do at least one craft a day throughout the month of March. I love creating and trying new things, so this is going to be a really FUN month!

Easy Four Leaf Clover Picks
Today I made several dozen Four Leaf Clovers for St. Patrick’s Day next week. I love working with a glue gun!
Sometimes you just have to adapt your best-laid plans… I planned this project a week ago, but then today, I couldn’t find the shamrock green cardstock I know I have – I looked everywhere. I ended up having to use this lime green cardstock that was leftover from our Christmas decorations. I’m calling these clovers my “Blimey Limey Lucky Clovers”. Then, when I went to draw a pattern onto the little lime green hearts, I discovered the perfect green color marker had dried up. Ugh! I guess I use that one too much. So… I ended up having to use a much lighter green color marker than I wanted.
At first I thought I’d make most of the clovers with three leaves so my family would find it lucky to find a four-leaf clover or two in the bunch. But… I decided we ALL need a little more ‘luck’ these days, so I made them all four-leaf clovers!
Overall, I’m happy with how these Blimey Limey Lucky Clovers turned out. They’ll be a fun spot of color for our St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
What You Will Need:
- Green Cardstock
- 1″ Heart Shape Punch
- Hot Glue Gun and Hot Glue Sticks
- Green Floral Wire
- Wire Cutters
- Green Marker
- Silicone Craft Pad
What You Do:
- Use a heart paper punch to punch out 3 to 4 hearts per clover pick
- Use a green marker to draw a little squiggly line on each of the hearts, as shown
- Fold each heart in half so the marker drawn side is facing in
- Use a wire cutter to cut floral wire into 2 or 3 pieces
Each pick only needs to be around 3″ long. - Apply a dot of hot glue to the end of a floral pick, then immediately place one of the green heart shapes to the glue – gluing down the bottom point of the heart
- Apply a dot of hot glue to the back bottom point of another heart shape, and place that on the floral wire beneath the first heart shape (as shown)
- Continue adding heart shapes to the floral pick until you have either a three-leaf or four-leaf clover
- Continue making clovers until all your floral wire and heart shapes are used up
Additional Tips:
- Use the Clover Picks for Decor a Party – Place several clover picks into a small bud vase or shot glass to decorate your party table – maybe one vase at each place setting. If you prefer, you could also place one clover pick on top a plate at each place setting, or tucked into a napkin ring. Be creative!
