I have around 300 houseplants throughout our house (see my Visual Index for all the plants I have).
I like the pots I plant them in to be all the same or at least all the same color. With this many plants, I needed affordable pots – and I found the perfect solution!
The pots I use are white plastic, have drain holes and saucers, and have a matte finish that makes them look like expensive pottery. They are seriously awesome!
The pots are lightweight – perfect for placing on the many floating shelves I have throughout our house – and are very easy to clean, which again, is perfect for when I need to transplant plants into larger pots and then reuse the smaller pots.
Here are the pots I use… pretty cool, eh?
These pots are Mkono pots and are available in several sizes. I use the 4.5″, 5.5″, 6.5″, and 7.5″ pots. The prices are less than $20 for 5 pots, depending on size, so roughly $4.00 or less per pot. THAT is super affordable, especially for how nice these pots look.
Another similar brand are the Homenote brand. This style of pots also has a matte finish, drain holes, and saucers. These pots have a slight taper to the bottom for added interest. The pots are all one size – 6″. They look great alongside the Mkono pots above. This brand is around $20 for 15 pots, so about $1.33 a pot. You can’t beat that price for a nice quality, nice looking pot!
I use all white pots because I want the focus to be on my plants, not on the pot. But these pots are available in several other colors as well – including black, which is another color that helps you keep the focus on the plant versus the pot.
I HIGHLY recommend these pots – and assure you they will become your favorite pots, too!
